Test ViewPane on Android

Google Play closed testing, before the public listing. The test has not started yet.

The test hasn't started yet. Signing up here puts you on the list for the opt-in email the day it opens. ViewPane is on the iPhone App Store today. Google requires a small group of Android testers to install a new app through Play and keep it for two weeks before the public listing can open. That is what this page is for.

The deal

You get the same free app that's on the iPhone App Store: the camera grid, fullscreen native-HEVC live view, your last 20 events, LAN and Tailscale access, and demo mode. The Pro subscription isn't for sale on Android during the test, so Pro features stay locked there for now. When the public listing opens, the test build simply updates in place. We get honest reports about what breaks on a Frigate setup that isn't ours. No analytics get added for the test; when something breaks, you tell us — the app won't.

What you need

An Android phone on 13 or newer with a Google account, and ideally a self-hosted Frigate 0.14 or newer (tested on 0.16 and 0.17) server you administer. No Frigate? Demo mode still counts — the install is what Google measures. Remote access testing works best if you run Tailscale, but LAN-only testers are useful too.

What we ask

When the test opens, opt in from the link we email you, install from Google Play, and keep it installed for at least 14 days. Use it like you mean it if you can. When something is broken, confusing, or slow, send it through the bug report form — a structured two-minute report beats a "didn't work" every time. That's it. No surveys, no calls, no Discord obligation.
